Much of the…
Much of the material for this work is taken from a three movement guitar sonata from the summer of 1992. I decided to withdraw the work from my catalogue, but develop and revise some of the thematic ideas to produce a new single movement work as this piece stands.
Inspiration for the piece’s title comes from a thought I once had pondering how wonderful it is to find something that has been hidden away for a very long time or presumed lost, and since forgotten; and the subsequent joy resulting from such a random discovery.
The work was first performed in December 2003 by Tim Tate at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff.
