Bryan Kelly writes about Somerset Preludes that “The piano was my first study as a student at the Royal College of Music. I taught the piano for some years and gave many recitals as a soloist and as an accompanist. Oddly, I have not written much for the instrument and this set of pieces is my first venture in the field for a long while. I live in Somerset where these preludes were composed, hence the title”.
